Role of Information and Policy in Health Care"
Location: CC: Room 203
NAHRS is sponsoring this section Program entitled "The
Role of Information and Policy in Health Care". The theme of
this session is that health disparities
exist and that as librarians we can increase the awareness of politicians
and administators about health disparities. Furthermore, we can increase
access to
health information to the disadvantaged. Three presenters will be
discussing how they addressed these issues:
Annabelle Nunez -- "Bridging the Gap on
Health Disparities: A Librarian's Role"
NAHRS invited speaker will Annabelle Nunez speak on her role as Service
Libraian for the Hispanic Center of Excellence (HCOE) Arizona Health
Sciences
Tucson, AZ.
Diana McDuffee -- "Disadvantaged but Not
Disconnected: Everyone Goes Local"
(North Carolina was the first state to get its local resources connected
to MedlinePlus.
Peter W. Droese -- "Utilization of the
Medical Librarian as a Provider of Information Services on Health
Policy and Health Disparities for State Medicaid
Programs"
The role of medical librarians as expert searchers in supporting Medicaid
Programs and being collection development specialists in health policy
and
multicultural health from a state and regional perspective. |
