The NAHRS Discussion List:

...our NAHRS Community on the Web

The NAHRS discussion list is a forum for members of the Nursing & Allied Health Resources Section to discuss issues of common interest related to providing library support to a nursing and allied health clientele. Members of the Nursing & Allied Health Resources Section of the Medical Library Association are added to this list as a benefit of membership.

Announcement will be made through the list when a new issue of the NAHRS Newsletter is available on the NAHRS Website (http://nahrs.library.kent.edu/newsletter/). The Newsletter is no longer published in a print format.

This page provides information about the list and standard guidelines for participating. This is an unmoderated list, so any message sent to the list will automatically be posted without any prior review.

Any member who wishes to be removed from this list will find directions under "Subscriber Option Commands" on how to unsubscribe or can send an e-mail request to the Discussion List Manager.

Change of address: Send an e-mail to the Discussion List Manager including both your former and new e-mail addresses. Also, remember to update your personal contact information at MLANET under the "Members Only" selection.

  1. How to send messages to the NAHRS discussion list:

Send an e-mail message addressed to NAHRS@LISTSERV.KENT.EDU (this can be in upper or lower case). Include a descriptive phrase for your message in the subject line.
  2. Subscriber option commands:

**Important information on sending commands to change subscription options.**
    1. The software at LISTSERV.KENT.EDU processes any changes to your subscription to the list. Therefore, any of the commands described below need to be sent to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.KENT.EDU -- and not to NAHRS@LISTSERV.KENT.EDU. Messages sent to the LISTSERV are read as commands by the program. If they make no sense, the program rejects them.
    2. Send commands as the text of an e-mail message. Do not include a subject line and do not add any other information except for the command in the text of the e-mail message.

Subscriber options include the following:

The command: UNSUB NAHRS will unsubscribe you from the NAHRS discussion list.

The command: SET NAHRS NOMAIL - will stop the distribution of mail to you without unsubscribing you from the list. This is useful when you go on vacation, etc. Send the command: SET NAHRS MAIL when you are ready to receive mail again.

The command: SET NAHRS DIGEST - will set your subscription so that you will receive one daily posting that contains all individual postings sent to NAHRS for the day. The composite posting will contain a table of contents.
